India does not permit dual citizenship, so the Turkish program needs careful planning for Indian nationals: OCI implications, LRS transfer limits and who this route actually fits.
Indian interest in the Turkish program grows every year, but India is the one market where we begin with a caution rather than a sales pitch, because Indian law does not permit dual citizenship.
Acquiring another citizenship voluntarily means renouncing Indian citizenship under the Citizenship Act, and surrendering your Indian passport. The OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) card restores lifelong visa-free access to India and most practical rights except voting, public office and agricultural land purchase. For some families this trade is acceptable; for others it is not. We put this question first because everything else depends on it.
The Liberalised Remittance Scheme allows $250,000 per person per financial year from India. A $400,000 purchase is typically structured across family members (spouses can combine their limits toward jointly used funds with care), across financial years, or from NRI accounts held abroad, which sit outside LRS entirely. Each pattern has tax and documentation consequences; this is planned before any transfer, not after.
India is an apostille country, so birth and marriage certificates take a straightforward apostille and sworn translation. Name mismatches between certificates and passports are the most frequent correction.
Identical to other nationalities once funding is structured: four to six months to citizenship, one Istanbul visit, remote process available by power of attorney granted at a Turkish consulate in India or your country of residence.
Our position: for Indian clients the free assessment is genuinely an assessment, not a funnel. If OCI status or LRS structuring makes the program a poor fit for your family, our written opinion will say so.
